State Vigilance Bureau, today nabbed head constable Jaswinder Singh red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 5,000.

Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said HC Jaswinder Singh reader of SP city Mohali was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Babita Suri of sector 23, Chandigarh. The Complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the accused police official was demanding Rs 10,000 to help him in a case registered against her husband and the deal was struck at Rs. 5,000.

After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused HC was arrested on the spot taking bribe of Rs. 5,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under different sections of prevention of corruption act has been registered against him at VB police station SAS Nagar and further investigation was under progress.
