Divine Foundation, a Non Government Organization organized a unique Plantation Drive followed by a COMPREHENSIVE ADVANCE EDUCATION PROGRAMME, to generate awareness about importance of Medicinal Plants. The drive which saw participation by more than 250 students and faculty members Dr. Anuradha Sharma ( Prinipal ), Dr. Anju Manoocha ( coordinator WSDC), Dr. Pooja ( member WSDC ) and Ms. Poonam Gill from Government Post Graduate College for Women, Sector 14 Panchkula was conducted in the college itself. The Drive saw plantation of Herbal plants holding high medicinal value to encourage Naturopathy.
Students from other streams also took the pledge to promote greenery and follow natural life style free from allopathic medicines.
“The event was organized with an objective to create awareness towards ‘Benefits of Medicinal and Herbal Plants ’in Panchkula. We feel that one reason for life disorders is non adherence to Natural Life Style and over dependence on allopathic medicines, Tricity will become a role model for the country”, Said Abhishek Verma, Founder, Divine Foundation.
The drive presented a pretty picture. The students also held out placards and study material about healthy lifestyle to drive home the message of importance of Medicinal Plants. The participants were given certificates & prizes to acknowledge their contribution by Divine Foundation.
The NGO, ‘Divine Foundation’ through this event sought help and support from both the Haryana Government as well as the Forest Department for the successful implementation of plantation system and to imbibe natural lifestyle as a unique model of the city.
It is noteworthy that Divine Foundation has been conceptualized to offer grant aid in kind or cash to underprivileged segments of society, hospitals & medical colleges, public utility places such as parks, dharamshalas, aid to the aged & orphanages etc. It will also keep organizing socially beneficial events like the one held today, from time to time.
