Y’s Men International India Area to Host 43rd Annual Convention in Nedumbassery on June 29

Chandigarh: (SPOT LIGHT 24)The 43rd India Area Convention of Y’s Men International will be held on June 29 at Saj Earth Resort and Convention Centre, Nedumbassery, near Cochin International Airport. The annual convention will witness the installation of new office bearers, the inauguration of major service projects, and an awards night.The day will begin with the Constitution Council meeting in the morning, followed by registration at 1:30 PM. The official inaugural session will commence at 2:30 PM and will be inaugurated by Y’s Men International President Adv. A. Shanavas Khan. India Area President V.S. Radhakrishnan will preside over the session.The installation of the new India Area leadership team, headed by incoming President Adv. Babu George, will be led by International President-Elect Edward Ong from Singapore. The new team includes:

Y’s Men International Secretary General Jose Varghese will deliver the keynote address.A highlight of the convention will be the launch of the flagship service initiative, RenalCare and Dialysis Project, by YMCA National Secretary N.V. Eldho. The project envisions implementing service programs worth ₹10 crore within a year. Dialysis units will be established in 50 selected hospitals to support kidney patients, and 10,000 free dialysis coupons will be distributed. As part of the rehabilitation mission, Sneha Bhavans (shelter homes) will be constructed for deserving individuals.Under the environmental initiative led by the Women’s Wing, projects such as household waste management, organic vegetable and fruit gardening, distribution of menstrual cups, and tree care campaigns will also be launched. Prominent speakers at the convention include former Y’s Men International President V.S. Basheer, YMCA National Treasurer Reji George (Idayaranmula), International Area President-Elect Mammen Umman, Organizing Committee Chairman Saju Chacko, Area Secretary Jacob Varghese, and leaders including Philip Cherian, T.M. Jose, Thomas Luke, and Pilsen Louis.The Y’s Men movement, kwhich has completed 103 years, operates through nine regions across India and the Middle East under the India Area, which is the largest area globally with over 10,000 families. This year’s convention is expected to draw more than 1,000 delegates from across the country.
